We mentioned the nature center at Tigertail Beach under the "Beaches" section. If you want to see alligators, take a drive south on Rt. 41 and stop at the ranger stations. You will see a lot of alligators. We thought they would be less common. We also saw a panther but they really are uncommon. If you like to fish, you can fish off the docks (you should find fishing poles, etc. in the utility closet). We also love to go fishing with Sunshine Tours that is located at the Marina right next door to Anglers Cove. You won’t need a license with any of the guided boats but we get one for fishing off the dock, although no one has ever asked to see it. Licenses and other fishing supplies are sold at the marina next door. The same outfits that run fishing tours also take people to out-of-the way spots for shelling. Marco Island is known for the large variety of shells that can be found.
